ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Team India got a rousing welcome in Mumbai

T20 World Champion Team India has reached Mumbai. The victory parade will start at Nariman Points in a while. Thousands of fans arrived to welcome their cricketers. There are only heads visible on the 3 km long Nariman Points, there is no place to even put a foot. Fans are present at Marine Drive even after heavy rain.

Many fans are seen in Team India's T-shirts. They have arrived with flowers and drums. Right now the Indian players are at Mumbai Airport. From here the team will go straight to the hotel. The players will reach Nariman Point after resting for a while. From here, they will take out a victory procession to the Wankhede Stadium 2.2 km away by boarding an open bus. After this, they will be given a reward of Rs 125 crore in the felicitation ceremony at the stadium.

Team India reached Delhi from Barbados at 6 am on Thursday. Here captain Rohit Sharma along with Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya did Bhangra. Coming out of the terminus, captain Rohit Sharma, BCCI secretary Jay Shah and President Roger Binny cut the cake. During this time, Indian fans were desperate to get a glimpse of their favorite heroes.

The team reached Hotel ITC Maurya from the airport. A special cake was cut at the hotel as well. After this, they reached PM residence at 10.46 am. During this time, the players gave a jersey to the PM, on which Namo-1 is written. The players stayed at PM residence for about 2 hours.

Team India was stuck in Barbados for three days due to the storm. BCCI sent a special plane to bring them. This plane was named 'Champions 24 World Cup'.

Team India bus stuck in traffic

The bus in which Team India has to do the victory parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium, is stuck in traffic. Fans are present on Marine Drive in such large numbers that there is no space for even a bicycle to pass. In such a situation, it will be difficult for the champions' bus to pass. Seeing the condition of the bus, the victory parade will also definitely be delayed.
